Dr. Compton earned her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Columbia University in New
York, where she also competed as a Division I volleyball player. She went on to receive her
Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry,
graduating Magna Cum Laude.
During her final year of training, Dr. Compton completed externships at private practices, the
VA Salt Lake City Medical Center, and on the Gila River Indian Reservation. These diverse clinical
experiences provided her with extensive training in primary eye care, ocular disease
management, glaucoma evaluation, myopia control, and specialty contact lens fitting.
She is certified in fitting the ZenLens scleral lens for keratoconus and is passionate about
improving both vision and comfort for patients with complex visual needs. Dr. Compton also
has a strong interest in using the latest technologies to manage and slow the progression of
myopia (nearsightedness) in children.
Dr. Compton is a licensed optometrist in California, certified to practice the highest level of
optometric care. This includes the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents,
glaucoma management, and performing lacrimal dilation and irrigation. She is also
a proud member of the California Optometric Association.
